What happens between their form and your phone?
They describe the job
They pick what's going on (a leak or damage, a restoration or paint job, a roof clean, a re-roof, gutters, an inspection or something else) and what the roof is made of: tiles, Colorbond or metal, something else, or not sure. They can add a few words of their own, but there's no photo upload.
They give a postcode
That decides which local roofers see the job.
They give a name, a mobile and consent
First name and mobile, an email if they want to, and a tick agreeing to Blufire sharing their details with one local roofer. We check the mobile is a real number before any roofer sees the job.
Local roofers see it
Roofers who've passed our checks and cover that area see the job type, the suburb and the homeowner's first name, but not the phone or email.
The first to take it gets the details
Through Blufire's lead system, whoever takes the job first receives the homeowner's first name, mobile, email and message. That roofer gets in touch to arrange a look and a quote.
What exactly did the homeowner agree to?
The form says, word for word: "I agree to Blufire sharing my details with one local roofer so they can contact me about this job." Each job keeps a record of that wording and the time they sent the form.
So a call about that job is what they asked for. Adding them to a mailing list isn't. The ACMA says marketing emails and texts need consent the sender can prove, and an unsubscribe that's acted on within 5 working days.
Phone calls have their own rule. Once a number has been on the Do Not Call Register for 30 days, telemarketers need the person's consent to call it. Calls about the job they asked us about are what they agreed to.
What's in each job you get?
- The type of job and what the roof is made of
- The homeowner's suburb
- Their first name, mobile, email if they gave one, and message, once you've taken the job
- A record of their consent: the words they agreed to and when they sent the form
- Photos aren't part of it, because the form doesn't take them, so ask on your first call
- A mobile number we've checked is real before the job reaches you
Who else sees the job?
Other roofers who cover the same area can see the job, without the homeowner's phone or email. Those go to the first roofer who takes it, and no second roofer ever receives them. We don't sell the job or the homeowner's details, and they don't go on any list. Our privacy policy explains how homeowners' details are handled.
Automated tools in Blufire's lead system read each job description as it comes in. A job nobody takes within 48 hours can then be shown to roofers elsewhere in the state.
What if a job turns out to be junk?
Fake numbers and requests that aren't roofing work can slip through any lead source, even with mobiles checked first. If a job you've taken turns out that way, tell us at info@blufire.com.au and we'll review it.
What we'd do with each job
Call the same day, even if it's only to book a time to look. The homeowner was told one roofer would ring, so yours is the call they are waiting for, and a quick one sets the tone for your quote.
