Please stay off the roof
Looking from the ground or a window is enough to help a roofer. If water is near lights or power points, turn the power off at the switchboard before you do anything else.
Why the drip isn't under the hole
Water that gets past the tiles or sheets runs along the sarking, battens and rafters until it finds somewhere to drop. That's why a roofer looks above and uphill of the stain, not just straight above it.
Write down when it leaks: every rain, only heavy rain, only with wind from one direction. It's one of the most useful things you can tell a roofer.
Want a roofer to take a look?
Tell us the job and your postcode. We match it with a Find My Roofer certified roofer who specialises in that kind of work, and they call you to quote. Your number goes to them alone.
