Robina in brief
Planned from a paddock
Loh and Earle bought 20 km2 of grazing land west of Broadbeach in 1980. Their Robina Land Corporation turned it into what was then the largest master-planned community in Australia.
Built in stages
The name was gazetted in 1985, neighbouring Kerrydale was absorbed in 1995, and the suburb kept growing at 4.8 per cent a year between 2001 and 2011. The oldest roofs and the newest can be a few streets apart.
Houses and townhouses
At the 2021 Census, 54.6% of homes were separate houses, 31.6% townhouses, terraces or similar and 13.7% flats.
Christmas 2023 storms
Robina was one of the Gold Coast localities activated for disaster financial assistance after the storms of Christmas 2023.
The roof jobs that suit Robina
Early-stage houses. A roof from Robina's first decade has been through a lot of summers. We don't have Gold Coast figures, so that's a national range. See roof restoration on the Gold Coast.
Townhouses. In a complex, the roof is often common property. Report leaks to the body corporate or strata manager in writing and let them engage the roofer, so the work is properly authorised and nobody argues about it later.
Storm checks. After a big summer storm, look from the ground for lifted ridge caps, dislodged tiles or sheets, and gutters pulled out of line. Our roof repairs on the Gold Coast page covers what usually follows.
What we'd do in Robina
In a townhouse, we'd go through the body corporate every time, even for a small leak. In a house from the early stages, we'd book an inspection before deciding between a restoration and a new roof, and ask for photos of anything the roofer wants to replace. Send us the job and your postcode. If we have a licence-checked roofer for Robina, they'll be the only one who gets it, and if we don't, we'll say so.
Want a roofer to take a look?
Tell us the job and your postcode. We match it with a Find My Roofer certified roofer who specialises in that kind of work, and they call you to quote. Your number goes to them alone.
